Overview
QuickCompress is built and operated by Velorion Technologies ("we", "us"). QuickCompress is a native macOS app that compresses PDFs and images locally on your Mac. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we don't.
What QuickCompress does
QuickCompress compresses and converts PDFs and images using built-in Apple frameworks. All file processing happens on your Mac. Your files never leave your device.
What we don't collect
- We don't upload your files, file names, or file contents to any server.
- We don't require an account, an email, or any sign-in.
- We don't collect contacts, location, photos library, microphone, or camera data.
- We don't run third-party advertising SDKs.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
What we do collect
- Anonymous usage analytics. Through Firebase Analytics we collect aggregated, non-identifying events about how the app is used: app opens, which preset was chosen, when a compression started, finished, or failed, and the input/output size of completed jobs. These events are not linked to a person. File names and file contents are never included.
- Anonymous crash reports. Apple's built-in crash reporter may send us an anonymized report so we can fix bugs. You can opt out in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
- Email (only if you contact us). If you reach out via the contact form on our website, we collect your name, email, and message so we can reply.
Third parties
QuickCompress uses Firebase Analytics from Google for anonymous usage analytics only. No advertising SDKs, no social SDKs, no third-party trackers are embedded.
Children's privacy
QuickCompress is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we don't collect personal data by default, there is no per-user record to access, correct, or delete. If you've contacted us by email, you can request deletion of that record at any time by emailing contact@velorion.tech.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
